It has been a thrilling couple of days.
Suspiciously dire warnings aside, I’ve been having a blast researching the history of the Robot Butt logo. Though the fascinating thing is, the more I look into this, the more it seems like the Robot statue in the lobby is the real story.
You’ll remember, last week I found a drawing on the leg of the statue, well, I stayed late at work one night, snuck into the lobby, and took a closer look.
First off, let me tell you, the thing is terrifying to be around when you’re by yourself in the middle of the night. It towers over everything in the office, and something about the eyes makes it seem like theres a dull red light glowing from them.

Anyhow, I managed to drag an office chair onto the statue base with me, climbed up on it, and got a serious look at this thing.
Right above the drawing I spotted last week was a whole bunch more writing, and I’ve got to say, they were kind of weird. There was one in particular that really freaked me out. So, I drew a copy of them as fast as I could and got the hell out of there.
The next day when I got back to the office, I sent a copy of the drawings to a professor of mine back at Kentucky State. She ended up sending it over to the history department, who sent it to the language department; long story short, the drawings were writing after all! Specifically ancient nahuatl, the language spoken by the Aztecs!
From what the professors over there could make out, the writing seemed to be a message that said “Xontlato itenotzaliz –Yaotl- ahuiz haulquizaz atlacatl.” Which translates to something like “Speak its warning –enemy- and behold it will come forth, a monster.”
Now, what that means, I have no idea. Anyhow, a couple of professors from KSU’s history and language department are going to come in next week and take a closer look.
