Anyway, I wanted to talk to you about the current living conditions.
There’s only so much space up here in your head —

So much that things are getting a little cramped up here.
Especially since your boss, ex, and more successful brother are living in your head rent-free.

Gut Feeling (looking around): Well, there is that “Sinking Feeling” guy around here too. I don’t like him; he’s so negative.

Gut Feeling (smiling): But there are a lot of butterflies too and I like them. They’re pretty.
(Pinching nose): Yes, the butterflies are lovely. Could we get back on topic?
Look, you have a lot going on and, well, some of us up here are doing more than others. Shouldn’t we get more headspace?
Gut Feeling: “Headspace!” I get it!

“Who isn’t pulling their weight?” Well…
Obviously Irrational Worry is just killing it. How many nights each week does he keep you up late? That guy sure does party into the wee hours, doesn’t he?
Procrastination and Feelings of Inadequacy are more than pulling their weight. Strangely enough, so is Overthinking.
Why is that strange… well, uh… hey, isn’t that Easily Distracted over there?
No? Sorry, my mistake, it was Short Attention Span.
“What were we talking about?” Headspace. We were talking about headspace.
Anyway, Procrastination, Feelings of Inadequacy, and I were talking and we feel that Ambition, Brilliant Ideas, and Growth Mindset aren’t really doing much. Haven’t been for some time. Unwarranted Feelings of Resentment agrees. Maybe it’s time to let them go.
No, that’s not Ambition, that’s Phoning It In. You can’t get rid of him; he’s your go-to guy at work.
Which reminds me, Work Ethic hasn’t been seen in ages so you can ditch him too.
I know you’ve been thinking about giving Patience and Gratitude a shot, but Unwarranted Feelings of Resentment says it’s him or them and he has been here the longest.
You could also let Delayed Gratification go since he’s never around when you need him.

Yes, you can eat a few donuts while we talk.
The Catastrophizer on the other hand… can you imagine life without “TC?” So many great memories… well memories in any case.
So, it’s time to give up on Ambition, Brilliant Ideas, Delayed Gratification, Gratitude, Patience, and Work Ethic.
That will free up more space for those of us doing the real work up here, Easily Distracted, Feelings of Inadequacy, Irrational Worry, Overthinking, Phoning It In, Procrastination, Short Attention Span, The Catastrophizer, Unwarranted Feelings of Resentment, and of course me, The Little Voice In Your Head who will make sure you everyone has their say before you make any decisions.
Oh, one last thought — I think we can all agree that Just Be Yourself has been a colossal failure.
