Help with the Laundry
SUCCEEDED – The wife made a mention back in 2022 that I wasn’t helping out enough with the laundry so I made a point to pick up the slack and throw a few loads in every month this year. Happy to say I only had to grab something from the dirty clothes twice the entire year, so I’m ready to call this one complete!

FAILED – Honestly, I could have done better this year. I spent a few hours trying to set up some sort of blocker or plugin that would keep me from seeing any more, but I’m not very tech-savvy. Once that didn’t work there was no way to avoid it. I might reach out to one of my son’s computer whiz friends for help for next year.
Find My Neighbors Buried Treasure
ONGOING – Five times last year I was woken up in the middle of the night by my neighbor pacing his yard and murmuring “gotta put it deeper” or “they’re onto me, but they can’t have it. It’s mine.” I have no idea why he would have treasure buried in his yard. I’ve met him at multiple block parties. He works in IT I think. Regardless, I wasted no time in breaking into his backyard and digging the whole thing up while he was at his son’s little league game. I knew he’d be there because my son plays on the same team. They were playing the regional champs and everyone was acting like it was a big game but I knew we’d get creamed. Anyways, I didn’t find the treasure, but I did find some bones and an old stained map that leads to the abandoned mill outside of town. Can’t wait to follow this lead in the new year.
ERASE THAT VIDEO OF ME FROM THE GODDAMN INTERNET
FAILED BUT HOPEFUL – It wasn’t that bad! I strongly reject the idea that I “set the world record for slipping at Wounded Knee Reservation Site and falling down the most stairs anyone has ever tumbled down.” I strongly urge LooseyGoosey84 to take the video down or at least change the title to be more accurate. Something like “History Eager Patron Looking to Pay Respects Falls Down Reasonable Amount of Stairs.”
Finish Watching The Good Place
ONGOING – I actually did this one. I binged the last season in January. Loved it. Loved it so much that I started a full re-watch in March. Then I got distracted and a new season of Reacher came out so I never finished the re-watch. Finishing the final season will be on my 2024 resolutions.
Set a World Record
SUCCEEDED – Whelp, Guinness sent me the certificate and a medal. They typed the whole title onto it too so I can’t even show it off around the office. I put this on my resolutions last year as a joke.
