Everyone knows the disappointment of eating all the meat in a Chipotle burrito in the first two bites. There’s nothing worse than having somewhere between seven to twelve bites left of just lettuce, pico de gallo, black (or pinto) beans, and cilantro lime rice. Well, worry no longer, because we’ve got you covered with this surefire way to make sure you get double the meat in your burrito for only $1.50 more than regular price.
While waiting in line for your turn to order, say, “Man, I’m hungry and just not sure the regular allotment of meat in these burritos is going to do it for me today.” Say this to no one in particular, but loud enough that you can be sure the workers behind the counter heard you. You’ll want to start planting the double meat seed early if you want to pull this off successfully.
When you choose your meat, make sure to mention you want two servings of it. The person taking your order will immediately think you’re joking. They will often tell you to repeat it to the worker scooping the meat into the burritos, because they think they will get a laugh out of it too. This is normal, just smile and laugh along, pretending it’s all a charade, even though we know better.
Moment of truth. When the employee scooping meat finishes your serving, coyly state, “Hey buddy, how about we double that.” Before he even has a chance to respond, lean in and look him in the eyes and ask him: “Can I get double meat?” This is your way of showing that you’re serious. No more fun and games, it’s time for meat. He will almost surely say, “It’ll cost you $1.50 extra, is that okay?” Thank him for his concern and let him know that money is no issue. You’re used to these shady, under-the-table deals.
Make sure the cashier doesn’t decide to be a hero. You aren’t out of the woods yet. When the cashier rings you up, don’t ask questions. Be polite and go about your business like you aren’t doing anything out of the ordinary. The cashier is almost definitely getting a cut of the action, because they will complete the transaction like it’s something right off the menu.
