I recently learned that, technically, you don’t need a state-issued driver’s license to drive a car in an official NASCAR sanctioned race. It got me wondering, what other things feel like they definitely require a license, but don’t. I did some digging and it turns out none of these “require” a license.
10. Fly a “light” aircraft
It turns out, much like NASCAR, flying a light aircraft has its own licensing procedures. That said, flying a “large” aircraft in the U.S. has a licensing system that also requires a valid driver’s license. Neat!
9. Drive a farm tractor or moped
In many states either of these can be driven on a road (not a highway!) without a license. Just don’t expect to get where you’re going very fast!
8. Pay Me $2,400 so I can buy a NASCAR License
It turns out they have their own rules and regulations or whatever. I don’t care that much I kind of skimmed the article and then came to write this one. I DID see that it costs a around $2,400 to get a license to driver NASCAR. The 500 is next month. Let’s get me in there, as a bit. I don’t have a driver’s license but I’m pretty sure I could place top 15 or at least injure Noah Gragson on turn four.

6. Buy a gun
Look, I’m not happy about it either. It’s an unbelievably stupid law. Also, I don’t need you to buy a gun. I just need to make sure you and other people know that a person without access to driver’s license could, in theory, still have a gun.
5. Walking into a bank
Put your hand in your coat pocket. You’re going to tell the teller you have a gun. They will believe you. You don’t have to tell them you don’t have a license, but if they ask you can be honest, due to entry 6.
4. Put the money in a bag and walk out
You don’t even need a permit for this.
3. Run to a getaway car
I stashed a 2004 Escalade across the street from the bank in the KFC parking lot. Just walk casually and get in. It’s unlocked. Calm down. There’s nothing illegal about getting in the driver’s seat of a car without a license. You need to calm down.
2. Drive the car
Okay, this next part isn’t ideal. I need you to drive the car. I have backed us into a corner. This is illegal. DO NOT GET PULLED OVER. You are driving without a license, and also you did tell that person you had a gun.
