Well, the reality has finally set in. A trailer for Dumb and Dumber To actually exists, the answer to all of the suspicions that maybe we were all just being fooled into thinking a sequel was being made. Because it does seem pretty implausible, doesn’t it?
As for the trailer itself, there are really only two ways to look at it:
1) Do you like the original Dumb and Dumber? You’re going to be excited for the sequel based on what you see.
2) Did you hate the original Dumb and Dumber? What made you possibly think this trailer would change your mind?
As someone in the former camp, Dumb and Dumber To is giving off the vibe that it’ll be just as insane as the first movie. Numbskulls running around, wreaking havoc and being oblivious to the world around them is a favorite comedy subgenre of mine, and while the Farrelly brothers are generally hit-or-miss (though I really enjoyed The Three Stooges), it seems as though this one was handled with care.
We’ve talked about the strong slate of 2014 comedies before, and Dumber and Dumber To looks to be a fine addition to the list.
