Iran’s Ayatollah, Ali Khamenei, is a real character. His account went on a tweeting spree Friday, covering a number of topics, including the issue of freedom of expression. While much of it initially came off as innocuous spewing one would expect from a world leader, the Supreme Leader went in an even more predictable, Iranian direction by claiming that the Holocaust’s “reality is uncertain.” That’s right – according to him, “if it has happened, it’s uncertain how it has happened.” That excuse might work when you’re trying to deny plausibility for something you did when you were blacked out over the…

Three upcoming episodes of Saturday Night Live have a lot of promise, as Louis C.K., Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick have all been tapped to host. Louis C.K. and Seth Rogen have hosted before, so you pretty much know what you’re going to get (and it’s good). Louis C.K. had a solid go-around the first time, including a great bit where he played Abraham Lincoln in the vein of his character from Louie. This will be Rogen’s third time hosting the show. The most interesting choice is Kendrick, who has never hosted before. She would be a great choice on her acting merits…

Ivan Reitman – who directed the first two ‘Ghostbusters’ movies – will be stepping down as the director of the third movie, which is expected to begin filming in 2015. He spoke with Deadline about the decision, which certainly had much to do with the recent passing of Harold Ramis. “It was such an amazing time in my life 30 years ago, and I felt that way on the second film,” he said. “With Harold no longer with us I couldn’t see it.” “When I came back from Harold’s funeral, it was really moving and it made me think about a…

It’s hard not to get excited when you hear “Linus and Lucy,” so when it starts playing in the new teaser trailer for the movie Peanuts, you want to lose it like Snoopy. Although the movie won’t come out until November 6th, 2015, that doesn’t mean we can’t get excited in the meantime. And if the trailer is any indication, we’ll all be subjected to a bright, colorful Peanuts world with the slow-as-molasses humor that goes down so easy. After all, in the world of comic strips, Charlie Brown and his friends are really second to none. And while we get to…

Today is St. Patrick’s Day. It is also a Monday. For some of you, this poses a bit of a problem, since you likely spent the weekend celebrating or drinking in some capacity. Or maybe you just sat at home binge-watching Netflix, branding your couch with an imprint of your ass. But at the same time, today is the actual holiday and what else are you supposed to do on St. Patrick’s Day but get drunk and eat food you wouldn’t touch any other time of the year? If you’re in college, you absolutely go for it. There is no…

Kermit the Frog is a comedy icon and, naturally, deserves to be recognized whenever possible. It stands to reason, then, that we should all be very pleased to see that our favorite frog has finally joined the world of Twitter, and you should be following him. While we await the release of his new movie, Muppets Most Wanted, it is very satisfying to know that there is now an outlet where Kermit can share his thoughts on the world despite likely having to avoid constant hacking attempts by a jealous Miss Piggy. It’s also going to be interesting to see how…

Matthew Perry will continue to abuse himself on television, as he will play Oscar Madison in a reboot (fun!) of The Odd Couple. He’ll be co-writing and executive producing this one, too. As you may likely know, Perry has had some trouble on television ever since Friends ended. His headlining shows, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Mr. Sunshine and Go On, have all met their demise after one season. But Perry just keeps coming back for more punishment. This time, he’ll be taking Thomas Lennon with him, who will be playing Felix Unger. The only encouraging thing about this is that the sitcom will be on…

At Robot Butt, we have a constant, unrelenting thirst for knowledge. Therefore, from time to time, we like to hold roundtable discussions that explore the depths of topics that have significant meaning to our lives and the world around us. Please, join us for this new roundtable as we discuss one of the oldest questions humanity has struggled with: How many butts could you lick in one day? Steve: This really isn’t such an easy one, which one would simply assume the answer to be zero. But there are many variables to consider. For instance, let’s say your family is being…

Sure, to some, there is just nothing President Barack Obama can do right, or not without some sort of sinister ulterior motive. Of course, it’s just fine to oppose his policies, but credit has to be given where it’s due, and his appearance on Between Two Ferns deserves praise (though not necessarily for its intended point). A president deals in very harsh realities. As the situation in Ukraine continues to deteriorate and a variety of domestic issues rile up a strong percentage of the public, Obama’s appearance on a tremendously weird web series might seem like especially bad timing. But the administration…

It’s time to retire the idea that a third Ghostbusters will ever happen. With the recent passing of Harold Ramis, the future of the franchise should be clearer than ever after years of rumors and passing mentions of a script being written. Ramis, as you may know, was not only Dr. Egon Spengler (the best Ghostbuster of them all), but he also wrote both movies with Dan Aykroyd. In other words, there is no Ghostbusters without the input and influence of Ramis. So why try to “restructure” the current script that is supposedly being written? Why push something through at…
