Tip #1: Choose Healthy Parents
Preferably, you want both mother and father to be free of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other conditions that may have a hereditary component. To be safe, choose healthy grandparents as well.
Tip #2: Don’t Be Poor
Even better, be rich. Whether through rich parents, or a rich girlfriend or boyfriend, there are many ways of NOT being poor. Note that following tips two through five will also help with not being poor.
Tip #3: Don’t Be Unemployed
Research shows that employed people have access to more money than unemployed people. Employed people also have things like health benefits, and access to high-quality medical care.
Tip #4: Don’t Live in a Neighborhood, City or Country With High Rates of Crime
Japan?
Yes.
Zimbabwe?
No.
But what if you DO live in Zimbabwe, you may ask. Well, then move! You are not a tree, right? Tips one and two will also be of great assistance.
But what if your whole family is in Zimbabwe, you may still wonder.
No matter. My whole family is in a godforsaken place once known as USSR. That did not stop me from moving across the world in pursuit of better life and better health. An average life expectancy of 70 and chronic alcoholism may be good enough for them, but not for me. No, sirree! And if I, a healthy, educated, privileged white woman can do it, then surely you can too.
Tip #5: Don’t Belong to a Visible Minority
So many health downsides to being a visible minority! It starts with higher infant mortality rates and goes downhill from there. Racial inequality in access to health care services is also well documented, and all the additional hurdles you will find yourself having to jump through are just not worth it. Be white and be done with it.
